History, how we got here
We (JAKweb) have started building live support software back in 2011. In 2012, we released our first completely self-hosted live chat with guaranteed privacy. In fact, we have been one of the first offering this kind of software completely self-hosted.
The technology back then, as you can imagine, was not as advanced as of today. So we had to make the best out of it.
We also tried as one of the first to offer a self-hosted PHP socket solution but after 1 year we gave up to provide such complicated unreliable and hard to maintain solution to our customers.
Technology
We needed a different technology, and we needed this technology to be stable widely available and not dependent on any third party services.
For Years, we have been paying close attention to node, react and all the technology that makes screen-sharing, voice recording and video meetings possible.
But also it makes it possible on all devices without, a special app, tool or modification on your device.
2018
Finally, in 2018 we could start designing and planing for something new and extraordinary. All the tools have reached a stage, where they are widely recognized and compatible with all devices and operating systems.
The first drawings and notes for zipp.chat began.
